Grassroots Clubs Community Competition   16/10/2019

Grassroots Clubs Community Competition with €2,000 Prize Money

As part of their three-year sponsorship of the 'Unite the Union Champions Cup', Unite are launching a

Grassroots Community competition to recognise the great work being done at all Grassroots clubs in the

Republic of Ireland, which could see your club awarded €2,000.

The 'Unite the Union Champions Cup' will see the SSE Airtricity League Champions Dundalk face the

Northern Irish Football League Champions Linfield, in a two-legged final in November 2019. As part of the

build-up to the inaugural final, Unite are launching this initiative to help promote the great work done by

grassroots clubs.

Unite is a Trade Union, a workers representative body, which operates in both the North, and the South, of

Ireland. Unite have a strong, equality-based philosophy, which is non-sectarian, anti-racist and supportive of

equality in social, economic, gender and sexual rights. Their sponsorship of this competition is closely tied

with that equality agenda.

For this reason, Unite would like to know what initiatives you have taken in recent times to promote social

inclusion, particularly through integration of immigrant youths, families or communities, in your club.

Unite the Union will make a payment, or provide goods if preferred, in the sum of €2,000 to the club which

Unite determines to be the 'Best Initiative'.

Unite would also like to highlight your initiatives as part of 'Unite the Union Champions Cup' in 2019 as an

example to other clubs, and build on these initiatives in future years.

Clubs who would to enter their initiative, please email adminroi@unitetheunion.org on or before Wednesday,

October 23, 2019. Unite undertake to acknowledge receipt of all submissions.

Thank you for considering this communication and thank you for the work you do within your community,

'Building Unity Through Sport'.

Good luck!

Yours in Sport
